It’s been awhile since I’ve written and with a great excuse…I’m now a mother to an almost 3-month-old son and adjusting to motherhood.
He’s healthy, happy, and truly the light of our lives. He’s the best milestone that’s happened in my life, hands down. I’m excited and overwhelmed about how I’m going to balance motherhood, breastfeeding, being a great spouse, work, housework, yoga, completing my 500 hour training, and the list could go on.
I’ll be honest, I’m more overwhelmed than I am excited. I’ve made a resolution this year to go with the flow and not overwhelm myself with stuff that can wait. I encourage you to enjoy the present moment and whatever is bogging you down can wait. Enjoy time with your family and take care of yourself. Everything else can more than likely take a back seat.
Asana – the physical practice of yoga – is just the tip of the iceberg. Yoga is about being present and content. If something or someone is not worth your time, energy, or does not value you I encourage you to reconsider a better option. Life is too short to waste it on things that take you away from your family, friends, loved ones, and most importantly…who you are.
Seize the day, year, moment, and second.
What do you do when you are feeling overwhelmed?
